Typically, this person will be an Infusion Specialist Manager to help Lead alongside Oyster Design, the development and delivery of a reliable and robust resin infusion process.
HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business.
Day to day duties and responsibilities of the Infusion Specialist Manager:
• Developing and managing a core team of employees to create a specialised resin
infusion team.
• Manage the development test program alongside Oyster design.
• Accurately record test results.
• Procure materials, tools and parts required.
• Manage the building of test rigs and tables.
• Create a process manual for shop floor use and for use by other sites in the
business.
• Create work instruction sheets (WIS) and step by step process instructions.
• Create quality control documents and manuals.
• To work closely with the Oyster Technology Centre (OTC) in Norfolk to standardise
processes, materials and improve resin infusion techniques and practices to ensure
the successful manufacture of bulkheads and structural components.
• To advise on the design and construction of new mould tools.
• To devise and implement training programmes for existing and new employees as
they transit to resin Infusion manufacture.
• To aide advise mould shop managers as the resin infusion process is rolled out
across other sites and models.
Qualifications and requirements requested for the Infusion Specialist Manager:
• Good knowledge of resin infusion processes and techniques for both large and
small components.
• Knowledge of tooling design details tailored for resin infusion.
• Solid understanding of vinyl ester resin component manufacture.
• Understanding of composite lamination drawings.
• Understanding of Polyworx software input and outputs an advantage.
• Understanding of a wide variety of infusion consumables and suitable applications.
• IT literate with good working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office suite
and excel.
• Good organizational skills. The role will include procurement of consumables required for each component.
• Ability to follow strict instructions from the design department and feedback
observations made during each infusion.
• Ability to suggest improvements to current processes.
• Ensure safe working practices are implemented in all manufacturing stages.
• Proven record of leadership in similar role.
• Previous experience of leading, coaching and mentoring operational teams.
• Ability to follow strict instructions from design. This is critical to the role as there is
a large amount of R&D to validate our Polyworx software.
• Good communication skills with both design in Southampton and with their team
on the shop floor.
