Typically, this person will carry out maintenance activities on a busy site.

Duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician:

• Perform fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on equipment and systems          
• Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and general arrangements.          
• Conduct planned maintenance and address defects efficiently.           
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults in depot systems and components.           
• Perform oil spill response and confined space work, including specialized training (e.g., breathing apparatus, atmosphere monitoring, rescue equipment)           
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults in depot systems and components.           
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, fix faults, or arrange replacements and update line managers on work progress and adhere to overhaul schedules.         

Qualifications and requirement for the Mechanical Technician:

• Participate in a rostered on-call team and be available for short-notice overtime.           
• Must wear PPE as appropriate and instructed.         
• Able to work in confined spaces.           
• Compex training desirable            
• Must have  a mechanical craft apprenticeship or minimum NVQ level 2.
