The below job description will outline this position of: Principal Process Engineer

Typically, this person will be experienced with tank farm design and operations within the Oil industry.

Duties and responsibilities of the Principal Process Engineer

  • Providing guidance to appointment sub-contractors, reviewing the contract process technical output, undertaking process design reviews and providing feasibility / concept assistance.
  • Developing narratives and back-up calculations for the items pertaining to product tank farm facilities.
  • Help develop process engineering packages for engineering design changes in the tank farm, participating in HSE/HAZOP/ALARP/MOC and other compliance review for tank farm facilities.
  • Debottlenecking activities and maintenance engineering activities for the operation sites, including troubleshooting units associated with the tank farm and the Jetty.
  • Review contractor budgets and forecasts for work.
  • Manage documentation / data / records within document management systems.
  • Experienced in design for sites under COMAH, MOC, and CDM regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to assist the process engineers in other areas of the business to deliver successful process engineering projects.

Qualifications and requirement for the Principal Process Engineer

  • You will need to have a degree background in BEng or MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering. (Chartered status would be an advantage)
  • Design experience.
  • Confident in leading and supervising teams.
  • Good working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat and mass balances
  • Working to design authority
  • Must have a full and clean driving licence.
  • You will be required to travel to different sites.
