The below job description will outline this position of: Senior Naval Architect

Typically, this person will deliver engineering analyses, consultancy and marine warranty surveying projects and assist with proposal writing, group marketing and technical development in accordance with the quality management system.

Duties and responsibilities of the Senior Naval Architect

* Deliver engineering, MWS and other consultancy projects independently to meet quality and budget expectations, either by managing work packages, projects or contributing to.

* Review of naval architecture analysis, procedures, method statements and other documentation in line with good industry practice and recognised codes and standards.

* Prepare reports and document reviews. Manage office-based scopes on multiple active projects.

* Provide advice and support to colleagues and attend client sites to participate in meetings as per project demands.

* Participate in site work and offshore approval of marine operations, vessel surveys and attend risk assessments. Act independently onsite without need for supervision.

* Assist in the marketing of the business. Contact new clients and actively seek new market opportunities.

* Independently complete tenders for new work to a high standard

Qualifications and requirement for the Senior Naval Architect:

* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in naval architecture or engineering subject is necessary.

* More than 2 years’ experience of transport and installation of offshore renewables structures is required. (turbines /cable etc.) required.

* Knowledge of Marine Warranty scope and responsibilities in offshore projects advantageous.

* Fluency in English is necessary. German language skills are highly advantageous.

* Proven track record of managing multiple, sometimes simultaneous engineering projects in the offshore/renewables sector.

* Proven record of independently pursuing market opportunities and adding to company backlog.

* Ability to independently manage several concurrent projects and delegate work to other company resources as applicable, include to junior resources.

* Ability to provide technical and commercial support and assistance to other department members.

* Able to communicate technical information in a clear professional manner with colleagues and external clients, without requirement for supervision.

* Ability to solve problems, often under high pressure situations, using own experience or under advice of colleagues.
